The LED panels with optimal color reproduction provide good LED lighting, true to the colors, compared to low-quality LED chips, which often have a low level of color reproduction. The latter causes colors to appear dull and create a whitish or even greenish environment, as the most affected tones are usually the reds.
The components of the LED panel are another very important point to consider
- ✔ Frame: the frame provides the structure for the panel, a square aluminum frame that we see from the front. A weak frame causes failures in the PCB where the LEDs are located; without a good frame, the panel is very weak, which leads to failures in the PCB where the leds are mounted. That's why the thickness and security of the frame play a fundamental role in the quality of the panel.
- ✔ Diffuser: The diffuser is made of polystyrene to provide optimal light transmission. Easy to clean and with great thermal stability. With the light guide or LGP, it fulfills the function of transmitting light evenly across the entire surface of the panel.
- ✔ Light Guide Plate or LGP: this is one of the most critical points of LED panels, the material and thickness of the light guide are vital for the proper functioning and lifespan of a panel. If the LGP is of poor quality (usually made of PS), these panels start to turn yellow and darken in the middle after about 6 months of use. This should be avoided, and for this, PMMA LGP should be used, which makes it much more stable and durable.

The PCB design affects the number of chips; if the chips are reduced, they will operate at a higher voltage, decreasing the efficiency of the luminaire.
- ✔Back Cover or Back: The thickness and stamping of the back cover determine the strength of the panel and ensure it does not suffer during transportation or installation. A weak panel can lead to premature failures that usually appear within a few months, often due to the light guide plate (LGP) colliding with the smd chips due to the weakness of the structure.
