LED E27 bulb sockets with PIR motion sensor IP44
The E27 LED bulb socket is a simple and cost-effective solution for energy savings in areas of sporadic transit. It includes a socket for E27 LED bulbs with an IP44 protective rubber, suitable for use in damp areas and covered outdoors. It also features a PIR infrared sensor that detects motion within a range of up to 12 meters with a detection angle of 180 degrees. Both the E27 LED bulb socket and the head with the PIR sensor are adjustable and tiltable, allowing for proper orientation.
PIR motion sensor
The PIR motion sensor acts as a switch, connecting the circuit when movement is detected within its detection range, and disconnecting when the infrared no longer detects movement, after the programmed time (minimum 10 seconds, maximum 7 minutes).
The motion sensor automatically identifies day and night. The ambient light for the sensor's operation can be freely adjusted by simply modifying the existing LUX dial on the sensor head. The DAY option will only activate the switch functions both day and night, while the NIGHT option will only activate the switch at night or when ambient conditions provide less than 10 lux. The sensitivity of the ambient light is adjustable by changing the position of the LUX dial.
It is also possible to modify the angle and distance sensitivity. If the SENS dial is set to the + position, the sensor will operate at maximum length (12 meters). Reducing the SENS value will also decrease the sensor's detection range, down to a minimum of 2 meters.
Finally, it is possible to adjust the time that the motion sensor keeps the circuit connected. Using the TIME dial, we can select a minimum of 10 seconds up to a maximum of 7 minutes, as long as no movement is detected within the detection range.
How to install the E27 LED bulb lamp holder with PIR motion sensor
The installation of the socket with sensor is very simple, similar to the assembly of a conventional ceiling light.
- Disconnect the power from the circuit and ensure that it is not receiving electrical supply.
- Remove the rear cover by taking out the two screws from the front, and attach the cover to the desired ceiling position with the supplied accessories.
- Connect the input wiring L and N (live and neutral) according to the wiring diagram.
- Secure the lamp to the ceiling-mounted base, insert the screws, and reconnect the power supply.
Recommendations
- It is recommended that the motion sensor be installed by a professional electrician or by someone knowledgeable about basic electrical systems and the risks of handling low-voltage electrical elements.
- Avoid using the lamp without permanently securing it to the ceiling/wall.
- Make sure that you do not install the lamp holder with a sensor facing or near objects in constant motion in order to achieve the intended purpose of the lamp.
- Avoid installing the sensor near areas with temperature fluctuations, such as air conditioners, heating sources, drafts, etc.
- If you notice that the sensor's sensitivity is insufficient, make sure that no elements are interfering with the sensor, that the ambient temperature is not above 40ºC, and that the height at which you have placed the lamp does not exceed 2.5 meters.
- In order to maintain the sealing of the bulb joint, it is recommended to use LED bulb E27 PAR 38 and do not place it above 90° with respect to the vertical.
